The Facebook IPO.

Depending upon with whom you speak, Mark Zuckerberg – the just turned 28-year old Facebook founder or co-founder or something – is an egotistical, insufferable, amoral, backstabbing jerk or at the least an insufferable egotistical jerk who’s now officially the 29th richest man in the world.
Something in the neighborhood of 400 million shares will be offered at an opening price of $38 and where it goes from there is anybody’s guess. What’s universally accepted about this IPO is it’s gonna be big.
One thing is for sure: the day of the IPO will end with a lot more millionaires in the United States than there were when the day began.
Which is really odd because by any mature business definition, Facebook gives every impression of being a house of cards built upon shifting sands.
I’m Jim Sumpter and that’s “My Take”.
